As
Village Engineers for several municipalities, HBE
has taken a proactive approach to existing roadway
rehabilitation and reconstruction. Our staff of
engineers and technicians have extensive expertise
and knowledge in planning, design and construction
of roadway and alley improvements. HBE believes
strongly in providing value engineering to our
municipal clients, while considering the needs of
our residential, commercial and industrial residents
who must live and work through the inconvenience of
a road reconstruction project.
The following are some examples of our more recent
roadway projects: |

Residential
Streets/Bond Issue
Willow Springs, IL
As Village Engineers, Hoefferle-Butler Engineering
was responsible for the preliminary evaluations,
topographic mapping, field reconnaissance, design,
construction staking and project management for a
$3.7 million multi-year road program in the Village
of Willow Springs, IL. Alternate Revenue Bonds were
issued for the project based upon Bond Council
projections using opinions of project costs
developed by HBE. Residents of the Village were
consulted and kept informed of the project scope
through numerous advisory meetings in addition to
required Public Hearings. The project involved the
removal of approximately three miles of existing
rural cross section local streets and parkway
drainage ditches and replacement with urban streets
meeting current design
standards, including curb/gutter, new storm sewer,
and landscaping restoration. Care was taken
throughout design to minimize any damage to mature
trees, a valued asset to this community. Included in
the roadway improvement project was the $450,000
rehabilitation of existing sanitary sewers. Sewers
along the construction route were televised,
inspected and evaluated for repairs prior to any
roadway construction.
2001-2003 Street Improvements
Bridgeview, IL
HBE provided to the village professional services
for plans, specifications, contracts and in-house
field services for the reconstruction of numerous
streets within the Village of Bridgeview. Projects
consisted of the removal and replacement of 8.6
miles of bituminous pavement surface, reconstruction
of 430 drainage structures, and the removal of
11,300 lineal feet of curb and gutter |
